"Columbaria at Mount Auburn Cemetery" booklet (11" h x 8.5" w) of eight pages of semi-gloss medium-weight paper. The title, "Columbaria at Mount Auburn Cemetery," is printed in dark red ink in a block at top center of the cover. The booklet serves as a sales brochure for niche and burial space in the columbaria. It is illustrated with black and white photographs by Arthur Cushman Haskell and includes text titled "Mount Auburn Cemetery" and "Historical Background of Cremation." On the booklet cover is a full-page black and white photograph of Story Chapel viewed from Fountain Avenue. Page 2 is a full-page photograph of the interior of Bigelow Chapel, page 3 is text, pages 4 and 5 display half-page photographs of Bigelow Chapel and Asa Gray Garden and text, page 6 is full-page text, and page 7 is a full-page photograph of an alcove of niches in the Story Chapel Columbarium. The back cover is a full-page photograph of the hallway of alcoves in the Story Chapel Columbarium. This catalog entry covers ten identical booklets except some covers are annotated in pen or pencil indicating a "first printing", a "1948 revision", and some are also ink-stamped "Mount Auburn Cemetery File Copy". |
