Handwritten letter from David Ramsay Hay to Jacob Bigelow dated February 28th,1845. Addressed to "Doctor Jacob Bigelow, M.D. Boston", Hay wrote from Edinburgh in response to Bigelow's letter of December 14th, 1844, which had included lithographic outlines of designs for the stained-glass windows to be installed in Bigelow Chapel. The letter is written in black ink on both sides of two unlined fastened pages. The verso of the closed document includes the postage address "Doctor Jacob Bigelow [,] Boston [,] United States America" and ink-stamp "PAID at EDINB. F [,] MAR 1 1845" indicating postage was paid on Friday, March 1st, 1845 in Edinburgh, Scotland. A broken red wax seal is below the manuscript. |
