Record of Contract for Perpetual Repair, Volume 6, 1909-1915. Burgundy bound volume, printed in gold on spine "Guaranty, Mount Auburn Cemetery, Record of Contract for Perpetual Repair, Volume 6, 1909-1915." The Record of Contracts for Perpetual Care consists of copies of the original documents governing the agreement between the Cemetery and the lot proprietor. The contract identifies the parties to the contract, the lot which is the subject of the agreement, a description of the lot in terms of the extent of perpetual care to be provided, and the amount paid for the service. The contract is signed by both the lot owner and the cemetery's representative, usually the Treasurer, and witnessed. The contract is approved by the governing board's Committee on Lots, and recorded by the Secretary. The Record of Contracts is a bound volume of contracts in chronological order by date of execution of the document, and each transaction is referenced in the Abstract of Deeds. |
