Handwritten letter to Secretary Henry M. Parker from pro tem Secretary Dr. Jacob Bigelow dated April 24th, 1844. The letter is written in black ink on one side of a single page; the addressee information and remnants of a red wax seal are on the verso. Bigelow addressed it to Parker at the Brazer Building on State Street in Boston. Bigelow informed him that a group of Trustees including Bigelow, Joseph Story, George Brimmer, James Read, and George W. Crockett, had voted and approved of a site for building "the Chapel" near Cypress and Pine avenues and that the Trustees would purchase lots to clear the way for an entrance to the chapel. |
