Handwritten letter from Edward Everett to Charles P. Curtis dated August 8, 1831. Everett was recording secretary at a meeting of the Garden and Cemetery Committee of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society where it was decided that analysis of the title to the land upon which the Cemetery would be established be primarily the task of Curtis with Justice Joseph Story consenting to the role of advisor. The letter is written in black ink on half of both sides of one page, when folded the verso contains an address to Curtis and titled "Cemetery Title". |
