Invoice from William Black to "Mt. Auburn" dated August 1st, 1869. Black charged the Cemetery $396.00 for sods, blue stone flowers, manure, and the labor of men and horses. Black signed and acknowledged payment of $396.00 which was approved by Superintendent Daniel Winsor, President Jacob Bigelow, and Trustee James Cheever. The invoice is written on both sides of half of a lined ledger sheet in black ink. The main body with signatures is on the verso, a two cent stamp hand-cancelled by Black at left top. The recto contains contains filing information at top: Black's name, invoice number #98 (in red ink), and a filing date of August 3rd, 1869. |
